In response to the multifarious needs of so many communities in and around Pretoria, Gauteng, we link arms and partner with different organisations in fulfilling our mission to serve our community.
Thuthukisa geared up during the Covid-19 pandemic and lock down to provide hunger alleviationparcels, financial and social need support for many families in our communities and across our network who were, and some still are, desperately affected by Covid-19.
THE SOUP KITCHEN PROJECT
This ongoing project started in 2013 and partners with Household of Christ church in Mooikloof, Pretoria, where every Sunday, we feed between 100-150 children.
EL SHADDAI CENTRE FOR WOMEN
Thuthukisa began working with a group of 20 ladies at a care centre for women with mental disabilities in the Pretoria area in September 2016.
Thuthukisa’s focus has always been to build together, to improve, develop and promote the well-being of vulnerable groups in communities, such as, but not limited to, abused and widowed women, orphaned and vulnerable children, children and adults with special needs, the elderly and people living with mental disabilities.
IMPACTING LIVES ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY
We dare to care and make a tangible difference in our communities!
Thuthukisa Community Initiative is a registered, Section 18A, Level 2 B-BBEE compliant, non-profit organisation, founded in 2001 by Bernard and Belinda Mulder, along with with Household of Christ.
Thuthukisa is proud to have been in partnership to sponsor the very first Champions Club in South Africa: our state of the art, purpose-built special needs facility for exceptional individuals (those with special needs) and their families.
Over Christmas 2019, the VIVA Foundation in Mamelodi suffered a great loss when their premises was broken into and ransacked of nearly everything they have worked to build up for their community.
LIGHT CENTRE FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES (24HR CARE)
In early 2020 Thuthukisa travelled to Krugersdorp to link hands with the Light Centre for Children with Disabilities (24-Hour Care) who provide permanent care facilities for children with severe disabilities over 2 premises.
In line with the donations and sponsorships received, we support and empower these communities financially, with care packs, groceries, non-perishable food items, through needed and useful gifts of all kinds as well as linking these groups to resources for holistic intervention.
Thuthukisa Community Initiative has been approved by SARS as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) that enables the organisation to issue section 18A receipts for any donations received.
